Anything that occupies space and has mass is called matter.
A substance is a kind of matter which cannot be separated into other kinds of matters other by any other physical process.
- matter is made up of very small particles which are in constant motion
- particles of matter attract each other
- particles have empty space between them
Solid, liquid and gas are three states /forms of a matter. All the substances do not exist in all the three states. e.g; wood exist only in solid state.
Solid state has a shape, liquid and gases are fluid. Solid is the densest state. A gas is highly compressible.
A substance is a kind of matter which cannot be separated into other kinds of matters other by any other physical process.
